I have an avatar that is 98x98 pixels (8kb, no text or animation) that i would like to use, but don't know how to resize it?
I am on MacBook.
Help!

Sadly, I don't know what kind of software work with the Mac but I can help you resize the avvy. Post it here and I'll resize it to 115x145 (standard of avvy in this forum). Problem is, the picture will look pixaleted and overly stretched if you just resize it (in other words, it *might* look ugly).
Anyway, just post the pic here and i'll see what I can do for ya :)

Open iPhoto
File -> Import to Library
Find your photo in your library and highlight it.
File -> Export ...
You should see an option to enter the size you want it saved at. You might have to do some cropping to get it to fit the exact correct dimensions (115x145), though, if its aspect ratio is originally different.

Another solution would be to open the file in Preview, click on Tools, Adjust Size.

Just a note: I found with iPhoto that it would not resize to 115x145 because the resize defaults to retaining the aspect ratio. I could get 114x145, and 115x144. Have others found this true? (Obviously, I used something else.)

What I did was manually enter the size by selecting 'custom' from the drop down 'size' menu. :)
