Everyone: use the multi-quote feature! You don't need to reply multiple times or copy/paste into a separate application to quote more than one post anymore. You can even quote multiple quotes from different threads! (try it... multiquote a post, go to a different thread and reply... you'll see the option to use your quote from the other thread below the reply box).

A more thorough description from the official site:

The multi-quote feature allows users to tag multiple posts that they wish to respond to by clicking a small button on each post. Once the user clicks the reply button, each tagged post is quoted.

To increase usability, by default, only posts within the current thread are automatically quoted. If you wish to quote posts in other threads with multi-quote, you simply need to click a link on the reply page, and the text of those posts will be added without a reload. This is the multi-quote button: http://intjforum.com/images/buttons/multiquote_off.gif

Two postings in a row only a few minutes or less apart where you just added on to your original idea or quoted a 2nd post will be merged! If you have more to add to your original reply, edit it. This is an effort to continue to keep the forum reader friendly. Thanks everyone. :)

i'm kind-a happy you're addressing this : ) it's worse on INFP forum where people have 6 posts in a row and I have to scroll forever lol

It might just be something I'm misunderstanding or doing wrong, but I'm not sure this is working correctly. At the moment, clicking the MultiQuote button does not seem to activate or deactivate the button such that a subsequent reply quotes all selected posts. Instead, clicking a MultiQuote button opens the reply window as if the Reply button were clicked.

edit: Nevermind. Client-side javascript issue.

Double post merging is now active. Consecutive posts made less than 12 hours apart will be merged together.

I've done this twice (once when the modify feature locked up) today. Thanks for the tutorial I'll use it.

the modify feature locked up
Clicking "Go Advanced" and saving your edit through that menu will sometimes clear it.
At the least, it'll circumvent the issue.

Quick edit hanging is a known issue on vBulletin. I have not found a quick fix for this yet. I simply disabled the feature since this is such a common problem here. You should not have any problems with hanging using the regular edit feature. If you do, please report it. Bugginess isn't something we just accept around here.
