For that matter, do you mix your salads etc before you eat it?

Some people like to mix salad as they go... and some people just don't mix their yogurt.

I always mix my yogurt to a nice consistency before I eat it...
How about you?

Yes.

Edit: I actually don't buy yogurt that has fruit on the bottom for this reason. Also, I tend to buy plain yogurt and make smoothies instead. I can control the sugar and fruit in it much more this way. I tend to put dressing on my salad lightly, and mix it (imagine my utter shock when I was present with two small bowls...yes bowls, not cups....of dressing the last time I ordered a salad when I was out...this is why I ask for it on the side...I don't want it swimming in dressing...if I wanted veggies swimming in something, I'd've ordered soup.)

Of course. If it's meant to be a homogenous mixture then dammit it's gonna be one.

Well...if it's stirred yogurt then I don't feel the need to stir it more..if it isn't then yes, I prefer to.

As for salads, only if there is dressing.

i don't mix my yogurts cause I like dipping in and taking out a huge glob in it's jello form still. as for salad, I won't mix it unless I can use my hands, cause the mixing is minimal with a fork at best so a waste of time--i might smear the dressing around the best i can cause it sucks when the people just throw a giant glob on one place in the salad... >: |

Hm. I was unaware of a use for mixing yogurts without the fruit on the bottomness. Shall attempt, at some point, so I haven't yet. For salads, yes, I mix to get whatever dressing may have been drizzled on incorporated, but if I get the choice, I usually leave out the dressing and pick out individual bits. Ah, why?

I think the more INTJ types like myself have a systematic way of eating, like I eat one part of the meal and then eat other bits in succession. (It applies to all sorts of things... even biscuits).

Whereas, other people that find eating pleasurable.. Tend to mix various bits of the meal up and obviously get more sensate enjoyment out of it.

I don't do yogurt, so no comment there.

With salads, i'll mix thoroughly - what's the use of having a big gob of dressing in one spot? Let all of the veggies share in the goodness!

If its mixable, I'll mix it.

As for yogurt, I usually buy small portions that have the fruit already in it. If there's no fruit I'll add sugar for sweetening and then mix away.

Little facts about my eating habits...

I hate how yogurt in a cup look like frozen pudding. I always mix it (even ones without fruit) until I can see no signs of rigidity and it's a smooth creamy texture.

I can't stand the taste of original yogurt... I've tried it and it tasted like vomit.

I hate salad with a crap load of dressing too; just a spot to bring out flavour is okay.

I'm a little weird about how I eat meals. Unless it's a sandwich, I always eat my carbohydrate portions separately from the rest of the stuff. I eat the veggies/meat on the side first, then I eat the rice/pasta. I also rarely drink while I'm eating (unless I'm parched).

Yogurt taste; +1 - I tasted plain yougurt, it was un-eatable (to me). I can't see how putting fruit into something uneatable would make it better. Therefore no yogurt.

Salad dressing amount; -1 - I admit to being one of those "salad drowners". Not having enough dressing makes me mad, I want every morsel completely saturated! Also, I just want lettuce, different types of lettuce, and no tomatos, onion, celery, "weird stuff" in my salad.

See, the thing is, they add sugar/sweetener to it.
It doesn't taste like vomit.
In fact the balance of slightly sour cream and sweetness is quite delicious.
Of course, it really depends on what brand you buy. Some stuff are just... disgusting.

I buy Fruit on the Bottom yogurt so I *have* to mix. Because I like mixing it. I don't mix non-fruit on the bottom yogurts before I eat them. It's sad.

Salads I mix as I go.

I only eat plain yogurt, although I do mix it with berries on occasion.. I like the natural tang it has.

And I don't mix it, I eat it as it comes, in the jello-like form. I'm also draining some right now to make some tzatziki.

With homemade salads, mix as I go, and at restaurants, I ask for dressing on the side, and either dip or put dressing on as needed.

AGHHH
I don't know how you people do it.
I usually have a pretty strong stomach, I'm good with innards, feces, worms... but not vomit, and plain yogurt smells and tastes like vomit to me.

I used to get made fun of for this by my ISFP mate. He's gone. I tried to adapt to the eating thing to make him feel better. Now I can eat however I want. I prefer my way.

I find eating intensely pleasurable, but I don't mix foods together. I may eat bites in a specific order, but to me that's quite different than mixing. One bite salty, the next sweet, etc.

As for yogurt, it depends on the kind! If it's a "regular" yogurt, I usually stir it, especially if a bit of whey has separated out. If it's a "whipped" type yogurt, stirring deflates it, which negates the whole reason for buying a whipped type yogurt. :p

I once ate strawberry yogurt with peanuts. Turned out to be not bad lol
Yogurt with fruit on the bottom is mixed prior to eating, salads are mixed, as well.

I just found this thread as I was eating yogurt! I always mix my yogurt before I eat it, and I always shake juice before I drink it. It doesn't taste quite as good to me if I don't mix it.
